Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Crown Royal Canadian whisky
  • 1 ounce peach schnapps
  • ounces 100% unsweetened cranberry juice
  • ½ ounce raspberry liqueur Chambord–Optional but recommended
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup Optional–only if using unsweetened cranberry juice and you prefer a sweeter drink
  • 1 ounces club soda Optional–for a lighter finish
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 Maraschino cherry For garnish
  • 1 orange slice Optional garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Measuring jigger
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glass or highball glass

Method

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with fresh ice. The shaker should begin to feel cold almost immediately.
  2. Pour in the Crown Royal, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, raspberry liqueur, and simple syrup if using. Measure carefully for the best flavor balance.
  3. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. The outside should become frosty and very cold.
  4. Fill a rocks glass or highball glass with fresh ice, preferably one large ice cube. Large ice melts more slowly and keeps the drink colder longer.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass. The drink should have a bright ruby-red color.
  6. If desired, top with club soda and stir gently once to keep the bubbles.
  7. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry or an orange slice. Serve immediately while the cocktail is well chilled.

Notes

  • Use 100% unsweetened cranberry juice for a brighter, less sugary cocktail.
  • Shake for about 15 seconds to chill the drink without watering it down.
  • Add club soda after straining, never before shaking, to keep the bubbles fresh.
