- Place the cubed beef stew meat into the slow cooker, spreading it evenly across the bottom
- Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the beef, coating the surface well
- Add butter in chunks on top of the meat so it melts evenly during cooking
- Pour in the beef broth and add minced garlic, salt, and black pepper
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or until the beef becomes fork-tender and easy to pull apart
- Stir once or twice during cooking to blend the flavors and prevent sticking
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix flour with a little water and stir it in during the last 30 minutes
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve hot over rice, noodles, or potatoes
